Durga Puja

Durga Puja is one of the most significant Hindu festivals, celebrated with grandeur and devotion, especially in West Bengal, India. It honors Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. The festival lasts for five days, beginning with Mahalaya and culminating in Vijaya Dashami. People dress in traditional attire, visit beautifully decorated pandals, and offer prayers. Cultural performances, music, and feasting add to the joyous atmosphere. On the final day, idols are immersed in rivers, marking the goddess’s return to her heavenly abode. The festival fosters unity, joy, and spiritual devotion among devotees.
